Golden retriever wants stuffed animal from Labrador: Tears of laughter flow shortly afterwards

USA - Dogs can be like children. As soon as one has the soft toy, the other wants it - even if neither of them was interested in it before. A new viral TikTok video shows that dogs can be at least as funny as humans when it comes to such squabbles.

In the curious clip from last week, golden retriever girl Daisy tries her luck with Labrador dog Donna. She has just made herself comfortable on the sofa with an octopus cuddly toy.

The four-legged friend has obviously deliberately clamped the object of desire between her paws. Daisy pulls on it all the harder. Because she doesn't seem to understand the message, Donna bares her teeth.

But Daisy is not particularly impressed. For a few seconds, the animal rivals look each other in the eye. The golden retriever also seems to bare his teeth a little, but his mouth remains closed.

Then Daisy jumps onto the sofa and pats Donna's head almost humanely. The Labrador is no longer in the mood. Daisy grabs the soft toy. Donna, on the other hand, now looks miffed.

One thing is certain: the TikTok audience is thrilled by the video.

The viral hit reaches 8.7 million clicks in just four days, plus more than 500,000 likes. Of course, there are piles of tears and laughing emojis in the comments column.

But could the situation perhaps have been de-escalated a little better than the dogs eventually did themselves?

Joe Nutkins, a renowned dog trainer and dog behaviorist, said in an interview with Newsweek that owners of multiple four-legged friends are better off buying identical toys. "Dogs often want what the other dog has," she said. Conflicts could be avoided in this way.

Conversely, however, this would mean that Daisy and Donna wouldn't have had such a funny fight - so perhaps not such a good idea after all.
